This is my 1925 Studebaker bus. My grandfather had it custom built as a "motorhome" by the Cambridge Body Manufacturing Company in Cambridge, Ohio and took delivery on May 24, 1925. It is 25 ft. 2 inches long with a 184 inch wheelbase. The seats are designed to fold into beds and there is an icebox, a sink and a kerosene stove in the back. Each window was provided with a screen and a pull-down shade for privacy. The body is all aluminum over oak frames and the fenders are steel. My grandfather took it to Canada fishing 4 times then put it in storage on the family farm. My father and I started restoring the bus in 1967 when I was 14. At that time there were 6,565 original miles on it. The engine is a Studebaker Big 6 SN EP 8358 and the chassis number is 2068136. | ||||

Do you know the whereabouts of any other long wheelbase (158", 184" and 195" and 220") pre-war Studebakers? This includes hearses, ambulances, buses, extended passenger sedans, custom coaches, etc. Please let me know, I would like to add pictures and stories about these vehicles to this page.
